Caterina’s Club: Feeding the Kids in America

On November 21st, Trading Places had the pleasure of welcoming Chef Bruno Serato, one of CNN’s Top 10 Heroes of the Year in 2011, to our corporate office. As a very inspiring individual, all of our employees were deeply moved by his accomplishments and enjoyed learning more about his journey. Chef Bruno is the owner of the historic, award-winning Anaheim White House Restaurant. Bruno always had a passion for helping underprivileged children at the Boys and Girls Club of Anaheim, and in 2005 that passion quickly turned into a world-renown organization called “Caterina’s Club.” To-date, Chef Bruno’s program has served over one-half million free dinners and continues to feed nearly 750 children, in two locations, seven days a week. He wants to feed children all over the world, but first, he wants to start with the ones in his own backyard.

In the spirit of the holidays, we have selected Chef Bruno’s charity, Caterina’s Club, as our chosen cause in the fight against childhood hunger.  As an Orange County business, we are staying very close to home this year. For the month of December, our employees brought in pasta and sauce donations in efforts to build his food inventory. In addition, Trading Places presented a donation check to assist Chef Bruno in his mission to provide food to underprivileged children living in distressed environments.
